Court-related assessments and programs utilize a combination of skill-building and process based interventions such as theories of addictive behavior, relapse prevention, recovery concepts, coping strategies, and decision making.
Assessments seek to gain an understanding of the presenting problem and possible contributing factors. Our psychological assessments consist of a clinical interview with a licensed therapist, utilizing clinically valid and reliable assessment instruments. Assessment report includes diagnostic impression and treatment recommendations.
As a result of violence related charges (e.g., domestic violence, domestic assault, disorderly conduct, domestic dispute, etc.), you may be required to complete an Anger Management Assessment.
The purpose of an anger management assessment is to help the court or employer obtain an accurate understanding of your relationship with anger. This involves speaking with a counselor, providing a brief history of your anger and other areas of your life. The job of the clinician is to work collaboratively with you to identify and label your relationship with anger. Other areas of your life will also be explored to determine how they may be influencing that relationship.
The assessment concludes with the clinician making a clinical diagnosis along with any/all treatment recommendations (i.e. education and/or counseling).
Session(s): 1
Time: 2 hours
Cost: $300
